Tonight, as I gear up to join my community in protest once again, for the purposes of protecting and defending the #istanbulconvention in Latvia - I am hopeful and proud to be a strong woman. 🕊️

Honouring our national pride, joy, and icon Aspazija (the pen name of Elza Johanna Emilija Lizete Pliekšāne) who did so much through being a poet, playwright, and feminist in the first half of the 20th century - I urge you to visit a wide scope of works gathered in an exhibition dedicated to her 160th birth day celebration @aspazijas_maja 🖼️

Let’s get inspired for liberation! Through art as activism, protests, and community. 🤍

There was a lecture on the origins of veganism and ethical thinking throughout history from @zooteeka , a look into the creation of @avenei.lv all vegan ice creams, the remarkable benefits of cacao from @onecacao founder, the personal growth story of @tofu.lv founder, and a small insight into what makes vegan art a true pleasure for the senses, from myself. 👩🏻‍🎨

Forever grateful as I am, that I get to pursue my

Forever grateful as I am, that I get to pursue my dream vocation every day, it is particularly challenging to be a political working artist currently - in the post (latest) pandemic, Baltic environment.

Mostly I make original, bright, saturated paintings and drawings - that are inspired by true stories, events, and real life observations - while using the brightest pigments and cruelty free materials of highest artistic and archival quality. I am also clear and upfront about making art as a form of activism. In pursuit of liberation, equality, and social justice, within our society.

But, I unfortunately do at times experience a potential buyer of my work changing their mind about a purchase because they find out that I don’t just make decorative pieces of wall art but actually stand for something with my work.

So, I am seeking to find You - my customer, comrade, and ally. I urge all die hard art lovers and anyone interested in bringing in more colour into their life, or gifting someone a unique work of art made with a focus on sustainable living - and wish to support a local, prolific, award winning, living artist. Gift art! If you also believe that we can be the change that we want to see in the world. Let’s continue to make history together.

First finished painting in my new studio space! 🎨

“Ymir Suckling the Cow Audhumla” by Danish painter Nicolai Abildgaard, was created between 1775 and 1778. It depicts the mythological Norse scene where the primeval giant Ymir drinks milk from the cow Audhumla. This copy is made in the exact size of the original oil painting held @smkmuseum measuring 37cm by 45,5cm 🐄
